Ingredients

  • 1 lb butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 4 cups plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 lb candied cherries
  • 1/2 lb candied pineapple
  • 1 lb pecans
  • 1 tablespoon butternut flavoring

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Add beaten eggs gradually to the creamed mixture.
  3. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Add 3 cups of the flour mixture to the batter and mix.
  5. Pour the last cup of flour over the candied cherries, pineapple, and pecans.
  6. Add the floured fruits and nuts to the batter and mix well.
  7. Add butternut flavoring and stir to combine.
  8. Grease and flour a tube pan.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  10. Bake in a 300°F oven for approximately 3 hours.
