Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb ground ham
  • 1 lb ground fresh pork
  • 1/2 cup tomato juice
  • 1 cup cracker crumbs, fine
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Combine ground ham, ground fresh pork, cracker crumbs, pepper, tomato juice, water, and eggs; mix well.
  2. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a baking dish.
  3. Bake in a preheated oven until cooked through, approximately 1 hour.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare the glaze by dissolving brown sugar and vinegar in water over heat.
  5. Pour the glaze over the loaf during the last hour of baking.
  6. Baste the loaf twice during the last hour of cooking with the glaze.
