Ingredients

  • 4 lb. ground beef
  • 2 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 2 to 3 medium onions, chopped
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • poultry seasoning to taste
  • 1 pkg. (1 sleeve) saltine crackers

Instructions

  1. Place beef, pork, onion, salt, and pepper in a deep pan.
  2. Add water to cover the meat.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Cover and lower heat to simmer.
  5. Cook for about 6 hours, ensuring there is always enough water to cover the meat.
  6. After 6 hours, season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Crush saltine crackers and gradually add to the meat mixture until it thickens.
  8. Prepare four pie crusts in pie tins.
  9. Fill the crusts with the meat mixture and cover with the top crusts.
  10. Bake at 325°F until the top crust is golden brown.
