Ingredients

  • 8 large cabbage leaves
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (10 1/4 oz.) can condensed tomato soup

Instructions

  1. Cook cabbage leaves in boiling salted water a few minutes to soften; drain.
  2. Combine ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onion, slightly beaten egg, salt, and pepper with 2 tablespoons of condensed tomato soup.
  3. Divide the meat mixture among the softened cabbage leaves.
  4. Roll up the cabbage leaves and secure each with toothpicks.
  5. Place the cabbage rolls in a skillet and pour the remaining tomato soup over them.
  6. Cover and cook over low heat for about 40 minutes, stirring often and spooning sauce over the rolls.
