Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups oil
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon orange flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3 cups peeled and chopped apples

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, oil, eggs, salt, lemon, orange, and vanilla flavorings in a large bowl.
  2. Beat well until mixture is smooth and well blended.
  3. Add flour, baking soda, chopped apples, chopped dates, and pecans to the mixture.
  4. Mix until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  5. Pour batter into a well-greased and floured tube pan.
  6. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
