Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves

Instructions

  1. Cream sugar and butter together until smooth.
  2. Beat in egg, pumpkin, and vanilla until well combined.
  3. Mix in the dry ingredients, including chopped walnuts, until the batter is well blended.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Frost with Spicy Frosting while the bars are still warm, not hot.
