Ingredients

  • 1 quart sliced okra
  • 2 medium half ripe tomatoes, chopped
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal

Instructions

  1. Combine sliced okra, salt, pepper, flour, and cornmeal in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add oil to a large skillet and heat until hot.
  3. Pour the okra mixture into the hot oil and reduce the heat to medium.
  4. Cook until the okra is about half done, then add the chopped tomatoes.
  5. Continue cooking until the okra is browned and cooked through.
