- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix the egg with enough water to make 1/2 cup of liquid.
- Combine the dry ingredients—flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon—with the butter and the egg mixture. Mix until well blended.
- Divide the dough into two equal parts. Roll each part out to fit a 9 x 13-inch pan, one for the bottom crust and one for the top crust.
- Place the bottom crust into the prepared pan.

- Cover the apples with the top crust. Prick the top crust several times to vent.
