- Drain raisins, saving 1 cup of water.
- Add baking soda to the saved water and set aside.

- Gradually add the dry ingredients (flour, salt, cinnamon) to the wet mixture.
- Stir in the raisins.
- Pour batter into a greased baking pan and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
- Allow the cake to cool completely, then frost with strudel topping.
