Frozen Angel Biscuits are light, fluffy treats with a hint of sweetness, perfect for breakfast or snacks. They freeze well and bake quickly for fresh, warm biscuits.

Ingredients

  • 5 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 c. buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Sift dry ingredients together; cut in shortening.
  2. Dissolve yeast in warm water; add to buttermilk.
  3. Add milk mixture to dry ingredients; mix well.
  4. Turn onto floured surface; fold over, working in small amounts of flour several times.
  5. Pat or roll out to desired thickness; cut and place on greased cookie sheet and freeze.
  6. As soon as the biscuits are frozen, place in freezer bags or containers.
  7. To use, defrost 30 minutes before baking.
  8. Bake at 400° until brown.
