Ingredients

  • 2 c. chopped pecans
  • 2 c. light brown sugar
  • 1 c. plain cake flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1 lb. mixed, chopped candied fruit
  • 1 stick margarine

Instructions

  1. Grease and flour an 8 x 14-inch pan.
  2. Press chopped pecans into the prepared pan.
  3. Melt margarine and light brown sugar over low heat; remove from heat.
  4. Add plain cake flour, well beaten eggs, and vanilla flavoring to the melted mixture.
  5. Pour the batter over the nuts in the pan.
  6. Sprinkle chopped candied fruit over the batter.
  7. Bake at 250°F for 1 hour.
  8. Cool and cut into bars.
