Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cans pie filling (prefer cherry)
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, baking powder) and cut in the shortening until crumbly.

  3. Press half of the dough into the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  4. Spread the pie filling evenly over the dough layer.

  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35 to 45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.
