Ingredients

  • 1 c. fruit, drained
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sour milk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. oleo, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the egg, sugar, and sour milk until well blended.
  3. Stir in the flour, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, and melted oleo until smooth.
  4. Fold in the drained fruit and any optional additions like coconut, nuts, or raisins.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  6. Bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
