- Core, rinse, and drain the iceberg lettuce.
- Chill the lettuce in a plastic bag.
- Reserve 4 whole leaves for lettuce cups; shred enough lettuce to make 4 cups.
- Set aside the shredded lettuce.
- Blend salad oil, vinegar, salt, sweet basil, garlic powder, and pepper to make the dressing.
- Combine the dressing with cooked, cubed turkey or chicken, thinly sliced onion, and cubed tomato; toss gently to mix.
- Arrange the reserved whole lettuce leaves on 4 salad plates to form cups.
- Add the shredded lettuce into the lettuce cups.
- Top with the turkey mixture.
- Garnish with sliced avocado and orange sections.
- Serve immediately.
