Fruited Holiday Bars are sweet, chewy treats packed with candied fruits, raisins, and nuts, perfect for festive gatherings and satisfying a variety of sweet tooth cravings.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. chopped candied or real pineapple
  • 1/2 c. chopped red and green candied cherries
  • 1 c. raisins or chopped pitted dates
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter or margarine, brown sugar, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Add flour and baking soda, beating until blended.
  5. Stir in chopped pineapple, candied cherries, raisins or chopped dates, and walnuts if using.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly in the greased baking pan.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden and surface is slightly soft.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before cutting into bars.
