Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Crisco, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cream egg, sugar, and melted Crisco well; add milk and sifted flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  2. Roll the dough to 1/2-inch thickness.
  3. Cut with a cutter and fry in hot Crisco for 3 to 5 minutes until golden.
