Game Meat
A hearty game meat stew infused with warm spices, mushrooms, and rich tomato flavor, perfect for comforting meals and those who enjoy robust, savory dishes.
Ingredients
Instructions
- Melt 1/4 pound of butter or margarine in a pan.
- Add a dash of allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, paprika, and 1 or 2 bay leaves.
- Add cut-up pieces of meat in strips and lay in the butter.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Turn heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Turn the meat and simmer again for a few minutes.
- Add a cup of red wine or cream sherry and a cup of water to the meat.
- Dice a small onion and add it to the liquid.
- Add mushrooms and some chopped parsley.
- Keep heat on low so it doesn't dry out.
- Add one can of tomato soup and one can of water, then simmer slowly until the meat is done, about 10 minutes.
- Serve the stew over rice.
