A hearty, creamy beef stroganoff with fresh green pepper, mushrooms, and green onions, perfect for a comforting family dinner with rich flavors and smooth texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. round steak, cut into strips
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 small green pepper, cut into strips
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 c. mushroom slices
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, cubed
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. green onion slices
  • 1/2 tsp. onion salt

Instructions

  1. Brown the steak strips in margarine.
  2. Add green pepper and water; mix lightly.
  3. Cover and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes or until the meat is tender.
  4. Stir in mushroom slices and continue cooking for 10 minutes.
  5. Heat cream cheese and milk over low heat; stir until smooth.
  6. Stir in green onion slices and onion salt; heat thoroughly.
  7. Spoon the meat mixture over cooked noodles.
  8. Top with the cream cheese sauce and garnish with additional green onion slices, if desired.
