Ingredients

  • 3 pounds spareribs
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Combine pineapple juice, cider vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
  2. While the sauce is cooking, place the spareribs in a large saucepan with diced onion and cover with water. Boil over low heat for 15 minutes.
  3. Remove the ribs from the saucepan and place them in a baking dish.
  4. Pour the cooked sauce over the ribs and marinate in the refrigerator for 8-12 hours.
  5. Drain off the marinade and bake the ribs covered on the top oven rack at 400°F for 1.5 hours.
  6. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
