Ingredients

  • 50 Kraft caramels
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 package German chocolate or regular chocolate cake mix
  • 3/4 cup melted margarine
  • 1/3 c. evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Melt the Kraft caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk until smooth.
  2. Combine the cake mix, melted margarine, and 1/3 cup evaporated milk to form a batter.
  3. Spread half of the cake mixture into a greased and floured 9x13-inch pan.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 6 minutes.
  5. Drizzle the melted caramel mixture over the partially baked cake layer.
  6. If desired, add nuts to the remaining cake mixture.
  7. Spread the remaining cake mixture over the caramel layer.
  8. Bake at 350°F for an additional 15 to 18 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into bars and serving.
