German Steaks are rolled thin-cut beef with pickles, vegetables, and mushroom soup, baked to tender perfection with rich, savory flavors ideal for hearty family meals.

Ingredients

  • 6 thinly sliced round steaks
  • 4 to 5 dill pickles
  • 4 to 5 carrots
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 large parsnip
  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 small or 1 large can mushroom soup

Instructions

  1. Spread 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard over each steak.
  2. Distribute diced onion and parsnip on each steak.
  3. Place 3 pickle sticks and carrot sticks in the center of each steak.
  4. Roll up the steaks and insert toothpicks to hold them together.
  5. Arrange the rolled steaks in the center of a roaster pan.
  6. Create a nest of quartered potatoes around the steaks, along with the remaining pickles and carrots.
  7. Sprinkle the leftover onion and parsnip over the dish.
  8. Pour mushroom soup over the assembled ingredients.
  9. Cover the pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50 to 60 minutes.
