Ingredients

  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup butter or oleo
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 cup sour milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Bring molasses and butter to a boil in a large kettle.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Beat in soda, sour milk, and egg.
  4. Add flour, ginger, and salt.
  5. Bake about 2 minutes on a hot waffle iron.
  6. Serve hot with whipped cream topped with a cherry.
