Ingredients

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup crushed pineapple

Instructions

  1. Sift the sifted flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together.
  2. Cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Mix the beaten egg and crushed pineapple together.
  4. Add the pineapple mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring just until moist.
  5. Shape the dough into bars on a greased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 425°F for 12 to 15 minutes.
  7. Prepare the glaze with confectioners' sugar and spread over the warm bars.
