Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vital gluten flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon soy flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 tablespoon yeast flakes
  • 1/4 tablespoon wheat germ
  • 1 teaspoon sage
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 3/4 cups oats
  • 1 1/4 cups hot water
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Mix together wet ingredients and add to the dry mixture.
  3. Spray a coffee can or equivalent canister with Pam.
  4. Place the gluten mixture into the canister and cover with wax paper.
  5. Pour one inch of water into a crock-pot.
  6. Place the canister in the crock-pot.
  7. Cover and steam on high for 4 hours.
  8. Remove from the crock-pot and let cool.
  9. Slice or use in burger recipes.
