Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups noodles
  • 1 mushroom gravy mix
  • 1 can French fried onions
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Grease a 2-quart casserole dish.
  3. Cook noodles according to package directions and drain.
  4. Brown ground beef in a skillet and drain excess fat.
  5. Mix the cooked beef with half of the can of French fried onions and put into the casserole.
  6. Prepare mushroom gravy mix according to package instructions, increasing water to 1 1/4 cups, and cook until thickened.
  7. Once the gravy is thick, stir in 1/2 cup sour cream and mix well.
  8. Return cooked noodles to the pan.
  9. Pour the gravy mixture over the noodles and stir to combine.
  10. Spread this mixture over the beef and onions in the casserole.
  11. In a small bowl, combine remaining sour cream, egg, and seasoned salt, mixing well with a fork.
  12. Pour this mixture over the noodles, ensuring all are covered.
  13. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes.
  14. Top with the remaining fried onions and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
