Ingredients

  • 8 c. popped popcorn
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 6 Tbsp. margarine
  • 3 Tbsp. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. peanuts

Instructions

  1. In a 1 1/2 quart saucepan, combine brown sugar, margarine, light corn syrup, and salt if using.
  2. Cook to a boil, then reduce heat and cook for 15 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and add baking soda and vanilla, stirring well.
  4. Pour the caramel over the popped popcorn and peanuts, mixing to coat evenly.
  5. Spread on wax paper to cool and set before serving.
