Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 large bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1.5 pounds ground chuck
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 15 ounces tomato sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 8 ounces wide egg noodles
  • 8 ounces grated mozzarella cheese
  • 29 ounces whole tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Saute chopped onion and chopped bell pepper in margarine for 3 minutes.
  2. Add seasoned salt, black pepper, and sugar.
  3. Add ground chuck, stirring until torn apart and browned.
  4. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, and water.
  5. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. Spread dry egg noodles in a 4-quart oblong pan.
  7. Pour the meat and tomato mixture over the noodles, making sure all noodles are covered.
  8. Sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Cover the pan tightly with foil.
  10. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
