- 3/4 cup shortening (or butter) (Crisco) or butter* 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup molasses 1 egg 2 1/4 cups flour 2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp ground cloves 1 tsp ginger 1 tsp cinnamon 1 egg ⓘ

- 2 1/4 c flour ⓘ

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
