Ingredients

  • 15 oz. seedless raisins
  • 2 3/4 cups water
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • 2 sticks margarine or butter
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 3 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3 3/4 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Boil all ingredients together until margarine is melted.
  2. Turn stove off and add 3 level teaspoons baking soda.
  3. Stir and let this cool for about 4 hours or more.
  4. Add flour to the cooled mixture.
  5. Pour into desired pans, such as loaf pans or a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.
