- In a medium saucepan, put egg, butter, brown sugar, cocoa, and vanilla. Stir over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Pour this mixture over broken graham wafers in a greased pan.
- Press the mixture into the pan and let it cool.
- Add coconut or nuts for variation, if desired.
