Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 c. water
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour and sugar together in a bowl.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. In a separate saucepan, melt the margarine and Crisco, then add water and cocoa; bring to a boil.
  4. Pour the hot cocoa mixture over the flour and sugar mixture and stir well.
  5. Add eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, soda, and buttermilk to the mixture and stir until smooth.
  6. Pour the batter onto a greased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
