Ingredients

  • 1 cup Grape-Nuts
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions

  1. Mix the Grape-Nuts and buttermilk together and let stand for 1 hour.
  2. After the mixture has set, add the beaten eggs, sugar, flour, soda, and baking powder, and mix well.
  3. Pour the batter into greased loaf pans; the batter will be thick.
  4. Bake in a 325°F oven for 1 1/4 hours.
