Ingredients

  • 5 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 3 to 4 medium onions, peeled and sliced
  • 2 Tbsp margarine
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • dash black pepper
  • dash nutmeg
  • 1 tsp thyme leaves
  • 3 Tbsp parsley
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • paprika

Instructions

  1. Sauté onions in margarine until soft and transparent.
  2. In a baking dish, arrange in layers the sliced potatoes and onions.
  3. Sprinkle with garlic and seasonings between layers.
  4. Bake at 350°F for about 40 minutes.
  5. Add whipping cream all over the top.
  6. Sprinkle with paprika.
  7. Increase oven temperature to 400°F.
  8. Bake for an additional 10 to 20 minutes until potatoes are soft and top is browned.
