Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground chuck or ground round
  • 1/2 c. dry plain breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 (12 oz.) bottle Heinz chili sauce
  • 1 (10 oz.) jar grape jelly

Instructions

  1. Combine ground chuck, breadcrumbs, chopped onions, milk, salt, and pepper; mix well and shape into one-inch balls.
  2. Brown meatballs in a large skillet with vegetable oil until lightly browned; drain in a colander and discard drippings.
  3. In the same skillet, combine chili sauce and grape jelly; cook over medium heat until jelly is melted.
  4. Stir occasionally to prevent burning or sticking.
  5. Add meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 10 to 20 minutes.
  6. Transfer the sauce and meatballs to a crock-pot or chafing dish to keep warm.
