Ground Nut Frosting

A rich, nutty frosting made with ground nuts, margarine, and milk, perfect for decorating angel food cake and adding a flavorful, creamy topping for special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup finely ground nuts
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup scalded milk
  • 9 tablespoons granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Pour scalded milk over ground nuts and let cool.
  2. Cream the margarine until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add granulated sugar one tablespoon at a time, beating after each addition.
  4. Stir in the cooled nut mixture and vanilla or almond flavoring.
  5. Cut the angel food cake in half crosswise.
  6. Spread the lower portion with the frosting.
  7. Replace the top layer and frost the remaining cake.
