Ingredients

  • 1 cup cubed butter
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 (3 oz.) packages cream cheese
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups cooked sweetened prunes or apricots
  • Cinnamon to taste

Instructions

  1. Cream butter, powdered sugar, cream cheese, and egg yolks together.
  2. Add flour, baking powder, and salt; blend well.
  3. Add vanilla and mix until combined.
  4. Chill the dough for at least 2 hours.
  5. Roll the chilled dough to 1/8-inch thickness.
  6. Cut the rolled dough into 3 1/2-inch squares.
  7. Place about 1 rounded teaspoonful of prune or apricot mixture in the center of each square.
  8. Place the squares on an ungreased baking sheet.
  9. Fold over opposite corners and pinch to seal.
  10. Bake in a 350°F oven for about 12 minutes, watching closely.
  11. Remove from oven and cool slightly before serving.
