Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 3/4 cup snipped gumdrops

Instructions

  1. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add cooking oil, gumdrops, and chopped walnuts to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 5-inch loaf pan or two small loaf pans.
  4. Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 1 hour or until done.
  5. Allow the bread to cool before slicing and serving.
