Ingredients

  • shortening
  • 1/2 cup walnut pieces
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup tiny gumdrops
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
  3. Cut gumdrops in half and place them in a mixing bowl.
  4. Put walnuts in a plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
  5. Add crushed nuts to the bowl with gumdrops.
  6. Add flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into the bowl.
  7. Stir until well mixed.
