Hadasha's Broiled Fish features tender fish topped with fresh tomatoes, herbs, and seasonings, finished with a golden broil — perfect for a light, flavorful meal suited for seafood lovers.

Ingredients

  • fish fillet or bone-in fish
  • lemon juice
  • fresh thyme or paprika
  • salt and pepper
  • tomatoes, sliced and skinned
  • seasoned salt
  • onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Place the fish fillet or bone-in fish in a flat or broiler pan.
  2. Baste the fish completely with lemon juice and set aside for approximately 15 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle fresh thyme generously over the fish, then add paprika, salt, and pepper or seasoned salt to taste.
  4. Top the fish with sliced, skinned tomatoes and thinly sliced onion, and place dabs of margarine on top.
  5. Put the pan in the broiler; do not turn the fish during cooking.
  6. Broil until the fish is golden brown or reaches the desired color, brushing or basting with fish juices periodically.
  7. Add a tiny bit of water to the pan to keep moist.
  8. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until the fish is cooked through.
