- In a saucepan, bring brown sugar, butter, and boiling water to a boil again. Pour into a casserole dish.
- Mix together the flour, baking powder, white sugar, raisins, milk, and vanilla.
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the middle of the prepared mixture.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 1 hour until the pudding is set and golden.
- Serve warm, optionally with whipped cream or ice cream. The pudding makes its own sauce.
