Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups cubed firm bread
  • 4 oz. cubed fully cooked ham
  • 1 (8 oz.) can pear halves, drained and chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • 3 slightly beaten eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups skim milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. In an 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish, layer bread, ham, chopped pears, and shredded cheese.
  2. Combine eggs, milk, and nutmeg in a bowl and pour evenly into the dish.
  3. Cover and chill for 4 to 24 hours.
  4. Bake, uncovered, at 325°F for 45 minutes or until the center is set and the top is golden.
  5. Cool for 10 minutes before cutting.
  6. Garnish with additional pears before serving.
