Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 lb chipped chopped ham, sliced paper thin
  • 3/4 cup catsup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 5 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 heaping tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 to 1 1/2 teaspoon celery seed

Instructions

  1. Mix catsup, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, dried minced onion, water, and celery seed in a saucepan and bring to a simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
  2. Add the sliced chipped chopped ham to the sauce and try to separate it into individual slices as much as possible.
  3. Stir the meat into the sauce so it is well coated and covered.
  4. Simmer over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. Serve immediately on buns or make a day ahead and reheat.
