Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • red pepper to taste
  • hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook together ground beef, chopped green pepper, and chopped onion, stirring with a fork to break up the meat, until the meat is browned and the vegetables are tender.
  2. Drain off excess drippings.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together vinegar, mustard, ketchup, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and red pepper to taste.
  4. Add the sauce mixture to the beef and vegetable mixture in the pan.
  5. Mix well; cook over low heat for 50 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Spoon the mixture onto hamburger buns.
  7. Serve immediately.
