Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup tomatoes
  • 1 cup drained kidney beans

Instructions

  1. Brown the hamburger and chopped onion in butter.
  2. Add chili powder, salt, Worcestershire sauce, and tomatoes; cover and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes.
  3. Stir in drained kidney beans and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Pour the meat mixture into a greased 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
  5. Spread corn bread batter carefully over the meat mixture with a wet knife.
  6. Bake at 425°F for 10 minutes until golden.
