Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb. ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 1 Tbsp. onion flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. marjoram
  • 1/4 tsp. basil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tsp. beef bouillon
  • 4 c. water
  • 1 c. canned tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf, crumbled
  • 5 Tbsp. rice
  • 2 Tbsp. barley
  • flour

Instructions

  1. Mix first 6 ingredients, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, pepper and egg. Shape into 32 tiny balls.
  2. Dredge with flour.
  3. Bring bouillon, water, tomatoes, 1 teaspoon of salt and bay leaf to boil in pot. Add meat balls and barley.
  4. Cover and simmer 45 minutes.
  5. Add rice during last 15 minutes.
