Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean hamburger
  • 3/4 cup uncooked rice
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1/4 cup onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup celery, diced
  • 1 can tomatoes (2 lb.)
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Brown the rice slowly in hot oil in a heavy skillet, stirring frequently.
  2. Add diced onion, diced celery, and ground hamburger; cook until well browned.
  3. Pour off any excess fat.
  4. Add canned tomatoes, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Cover the skillet and simmer until the rice is tender, about 45 minutes.
