Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 lbs. asparagus spears
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or stick margarine
  • 3 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 1 1/2 tsp. chopped fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground pepper
  • 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat water to boiling; cover and cook asparagus for 4-6 minutes or until crisp and tender.
  2. Drain the asparagus and set aside.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Stir in sliced mushrooms and cook until light brown.
  5. Add cooked asparagus, chopped basil, salt, and ground pepper to the skillet; cook until vegetables are heated through and coated with seasoning.
  6. Sprinkle with shredded Parmesan cheese before serving.
