- Mix in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and shortening until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
- In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture and mix well with a wooden spoon.
- Stir in oats, bran cereal, corn flakes, and coconut; mix well.
- Roll the cookie dough into walnut-sized balls and place on a well-greased baking sheet.
- Flatten each ball with a fork.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12 to 15 minutes.
