Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tsp grated onion
  • 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 jars plain spaghetti sauce
  • 2 large containers cottage cheese
  • 1 1/2 lb Ricotta cheese
  • 2 lb grated Mozzarella cheese
  • 2 lb grated mild Cheddar cheese
  • 2 small containers sour cream
  • 1 1/2 lb lasagne noodles
  • 2 tsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Brown ground beef in a skillet, adding grated onion. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add spaghetti sauce, basil, garlic powder, and white pepper to the beef. Simmer and stir.
  4. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add olive oil.
  5. Cook lasagna noodles until limp, then drain and separate into strips.
  6. In a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan, spread a thin layer of sauce.
  7. Layer cottage cheese or ricotta, then mozzarella, then cheddar, then lasagna noodles. Repeat layers, crisscrossing noodles as you go.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove from oven and spread sour cream over the top layer.
  10. Return to oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes just to warm the sour cream.
  11. Let the lasagne stand before cutting and serving.
