Heart Attack Lasagne
A rich, cheesy lasagne layered with seasoned ground beef, multiple cheeses, and a creamy sour cream topping, perfect for hearty family dinners or comfort food cravings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef ⓘ
- 2 tsp grated onion ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp basil ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder ⓘ
- 2 jars plain spaghetti sauce ⓘ
- 2 large containers cottage cheese ⓘ
- 1 1/2 lb Ricotta cheese ⓘ
- 2 lb grated Mozzarella cheese
- 2 lb grated mild Cheddar cheese ⓘ
- 2 small containers sour cream ⓘ
- 1 1/2 lb lasagne noodles ⓘ
- 2 tsp olive oil ⓘ
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Brown ground beef in a skillet, adding grated onion. Drain excess fat.
- Add spaghetti sauce, basil, garlic powder, and white pepper to the beef. Simmer and stir.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add olive oil.
- Cook lasagna noodles until limp, then drain and separate into strips.
- In a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan, spread a thin layer of sauce.
- Layer cottage cheese or ricotta, then mozzarella, then cheddar, then lasagna noodles. Repeat layers, crisscrossing noodles as you go.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven and spread sour cream over the top layer.
- Return to oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes just to warm the sour cream.
- Let the lasagne stand before cutting and serving.
