Ingredients

  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided

Instructions

  1. Beat butter, brown sugar, sugar, and vanilla until well blended.
  2. Beat in the egg until incorporated.
  3. Gradually stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
  4. Stir in 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the dough into a heart-shaped pan or regular cake pan and bake at 375°F for 18 to 20 minutes.
  6. Allow the cookie to cool completely.
  7. Melt the remaining chocolate chips and spread over the cooled cookie.
  8. Chill for 30 minutes or until the chocolate is set before serving.
